Ride 'em Cowboy

On our last trip to Texas, the whole family got to hang out with Chad and James, a couple of our very favorite friends who recently relocated to the DFW area from Chicago. We had a great day touring around Cowtown, Ft. Worth together and enjoyed remembering all the great things you love and miss about Texas when you live far away, like in New York or Chicago.

So Wyatt went back to Texas a couple weeks after he returned home from his maiden voyage. This time he got to meet his Aunt Marianne and his Grandpa Gary who came up from Midland, TX. He also got to meet Monsignor Johnson, and Chad and James. He got dunked in Texas holy water and now he is officially a Child of God. Afterwards, we had a big party for the little guy on his special day. Lots of people stopped by Wyatt's Grandma's house and much fun was had.

Wyatt Goes Flying in Central Park

On a beautiful day in April, we packed our blankets and some snacks and headed up to Central Park which was bursting with all the colors of spring. First stop: Sheep Meadow, where folks sit around on slightly wet grass and sun themselves and play Frisbee and snack and check each other out. We did most of those things. Later, we wandered around, took pictures and then happened upon actor Adrian Brody crouching down, taking pictures of squirrels.

Wyatt's Mom had work down in Texas, so he and she headed south for three weeks in April. It was Wyatt's first trip to Texas and he had a lot of fun hangin' with his Grandma Bohn, his Uncle Pat and Sammy, the first dog he ever got to pet. Wyatt was transfixed. Sammy was barely tolerent and had justifiable concern about her fur.

There were plenty of fun baby gadgets at Grandma Bohn's house, thanks to Grandma's friend Marilyn Smith, whose own grandbaby recently outgrew all the things that Wyatt was able to enjoy during his stay. There was a fun swing (kept Wyatt happy for countless minutes) a little Bumbo Chair (looks like a mini Barko-lounger for a baby and the sight Wyatt in this made us all laugh). There was a car seat.....thank goodness, since car seats are pretty obsolete in New York since you walk or stroll everywhere. And there was a little floormat play area thing, all bright colors and little jungles critters that hung down over him. I think mostly Wyatt was amazed at the amount of S P A C E there was down in Texas. And all his toys were spread out all over his Grandma's house.

Wyatt went to Easter mass in his brand new Easter outfit, thanks to Grandma.

There was also one day that Wyatt and his Uncle Pat were able to do some serious bonding while I was at work and my mom left them together while she drove to Dallas to pick me up.  For his first time watching his nephew, Pat did a fabulous job, calming down a wailing Wyatt. When we arrived home, we found them both sleeping in the favorite reclining chair. So cute.
